This dress makes me think of one thing: Mexico. When we were in Mexico for our honeymoon, we ventured over to Xel-Ha for a day. We weren't sure if we'd enjoy it, and we were super hesitant to go since it was sort of expensive to get in. But oh man! It was amazing! I know I've already touched on that (if you're ever in that part of Mexico, you must go!) but the point is: when we were there, we had our photos taken with some giant parrots on our shoulder. I had never been that close to a parrot before, and I was totally shocked by how huge they were! They were oh so gorgeous though. I feel like I never really appreciated how majestic a bird can look (?! What am I saying?!) but these were so bright and beautiful! I was instantly drawn to this dress for that very reason. We've been hankerin' to get back to Mexico more than anything and some days it's all I think about (seriously). We loved it so so so very much. Now I've gone on a paragraph-long tangent about Mexico instead of talking about the dress!
No but really, this dress! It's a Hell Bunny dress, and you already know that I adore them! (I have a similar flamingo one, worn here!) I feel like this dress is perfect without a petticoat, but would be that much better with one. It was a bit hot on this day though so I skipped it (hello shiny face!) Maybe next time. I really love how the bust is cut and wrapped. The top is a halter style which I normally don't go for, but it ended up being the perfect summer dress! (There's some smocking on the backsides, too, so don't be afraid to order a size down!) Isn't the buttery yellow color perfect?! I'm totally smitten.

Yesterday went pretty much according to plan, but I was able to also squeeze in a 2 hour Skype sesh with my best friend, Elle (and a little bit of Bryan, too)! It breaks my heart that two of my favorite people in the world are 700 miles away, but thank goodness for the beauty of technology! We had planned on making our Skype dates a regular occurrence, but then Summer came full force with all of it's "to dos" and life got in the way. We're excited to make it an every Monday event now though! It's so great to be able to chat about life, businesses, goals, etc. Even just seeing their faces and reminiscing is perfect! We're really hoping that we're able to pay them a visit shortly. We haven't been back to Wilmington since we got engaged, and that was in 2011! I wouldn't mind walking along the riverwalk again!

My hair has been awfully frizzy as of late, but I've kept it in this slightly pulled-back look ever since getting home from the beach. Well, that's a lie. My hair normally stays in a messy topknot (like 80% of the time!) but when it's time to actually do something with myself, this is all I can be fussed to manage. I know y'all have to have your own version of your "DGAF" hair 'dos, right?! Let me hear 'em! I'm trying to relish in the last bit of my tan. I got a nice little bronzing in Florida, but I know it's fleeting. Autumn will soon be on it's way and I'll be back to my pale ol' self!
Today I'm attempting to photograph July's "A Day In The Life" so I can post it tomorrow. I guess if you see an ADITL post tomorrow you'll know I succeeded. Otherwise feel free to call me out haha This is how I'm holding myself accountable! :P
