This outfit post is one of those where I love the outfit, but I really don't love the photos. But I also really love the scenery/backdrop and have no desire to go back out there and get eaten up with mosquitos. I guess you could just say that ease and availability trumps all right now haha! It's not often that I wear outfits that are this "soft" in terms of color palette. Don't get me wrong, I love me some creams and beiges and whites, but I don't normally stack them quite like this. I really loved how delicate everything felt though. The only real hint of "color" is the pale pinks These "lace" overlay shoes are what inspired the whole outfit. They're seriously so freaking cute. I'm constantly afraid I'm going to scuff of stain them haha I thought they matched really well with my Northern Sea necklace, too!

This entire week has been a bit crazy with me trying to place catch up with everything. Emails, design work, personal projects, etc. I didn't accomplish as much as I had hoped I would, but luckily the reason for my slowness was a good one: crazy amounts of custom sign orders! I painted over a dozen yesterday and they were some of my very favorite yet. It's nice to have things like that to break up my day ya know? In fact, I was sitting in the living room painting away when my mom knocked on our front door and said "Come look at your kid..." (Just a heads up: when my parents say that, it usually means they have spoiled him in some way) Sure enough, there was Toby... in the front yard... drifting at lightning speed. Yes, drifting! A four year old... what?! Someone in my family was selling a little drifter (kind of like a mini go-kart?) and my mom jumped on it immediately. My parents brought it over and gave Toby the little flag from it first, then showed Mike the go-kart to make sure it was kosher, then they basically made Toby's entire life. He'd ride that thing full throttle to the backyard, then whip around the side of the house and drift in front of our flower bed. I guess it's a good thing our front yard is totally grassless (much to my dismay!) because that kid was tearing it up! He had his little helmet and seatbelt on and was just going for it. (Here's a short little somewhat crappy video on my Instagram. I need to get one of him really drifting! It's so funny!) It's probably a good thing we live less than 30 seconds from the emergency room, right?! The mama bee in me is anxious, but I guess I can't wrap the kid in bubble wrap haha

Today I'm going to make it a priority to work on that lingering design work. I'm getting ready to start some really fun, creative design projects with some talented gals, and I need to clear out my schedule as much as possible. I'm currently redesigning my mother-in-law's website, too, and I need to get a bunch of work done on that today! I haven't touched my work computer (iMac in my office) since before vacation... like 2+ weeks ago. I've been trying to get as much done as possible on Mike's laptop. Sometimes the office just doesn't inspire. Happy Friday! Hope the start to your weekend is rad!
