// Belly Dance Maternity Giveaway -- $100 Shop Credit

//////////////// 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 ////////////////

I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss my "bump." While I never really strayed too terribly far from my usual, non-pregnant style, I loved picking out dresses and outfits that showcased one of the most amazing times in my life. For once it was exciting and desirable to draw attention to my bulging midsection haha! I normally played it pretty safe with the brands I bought and the stores I shopped at when it came to maternity clothes. I shared two outfit posts recently where I wore dresses from Belly Dance Maternity and seriously, I wish I had known about them from the get go because the pieces I have from the brand are hands down my favorite. I felt so classy and put together when I wore them, and that was such a nice feeling at 9+ months pregnant. Now that the bump is gone and I'm juggling a newborn and every day tasks, I need clothing that will allow me to easily breastfeed, whether at home or on the go. Luckily Belly Dance Maternity has loads of nursing options in their apparel, too. Their options don't stop once you're no longer pregnant. Granted I'm looking forward to slapping on some Spanx under a few of my dresses once I'm able... but I do already love my nursing pieces for the ease of wear. And the comfort! Oh my stars, the comfort! I know I said it in my Onyx maternity style post, but I've never felt softer dresses in my life! They're so so breezy and easy to wear even in the sweltering Summer heat of Tennessee.

// Onyx outfit post ------------------------------ Screensaver outfit post //
Not only do they carry a wide variety of styles when it comes to maternity wear, but they have nursing bras, gifts for moms to be, baby items, and even swimwear. I chose a few of my favorite pieces on the site to highlight, just to show some of the options. I've been so happy with the items I have in my closet, and now I'm super excited to be able to offer y'all the chance to win a $100 shop credit.

// Cocktail Hour: Party Organically with VitaFrute Cocktails

Vita Frute Cocktail - The Clueless Girl's Guide

When you've abstained from alcohol for 9 months, sometimes you really crave a nice cocktail. Now that Linden is here and I can indulge ever so slightly from time to time, I've been itching to make something delicious. I'm a firm believer that a tasty drink doesn't need to be fancy or over the top when it comes to garnishes and layers. Sure, gummy bears on a skewer sure do look cute, but when a drink is good on it's own, that's when you know you have a winner. Plus I've definitely moved over into the "No fuss!" sector of everything the past couple of weeks. No reason to make things more complicated than they need to be, right?

Now that I'm no longer pregnant I've been thinking about my post-pregnancy body and how to at least get back to where I was before the bump... Alcohol usually doesn't make the cut when you're trying to be smart about your calories. Enter Vita Frute cocktails... I whipped up a pomegranate and lemonade cocktail the other day to split with Mike while we teetered around the house and I'm going to share the super simple recipe with you today! Check it out below.
Vita Frute Cocktail - The Clueless Girl's Guide
The key ingredient to this cocktail is the Vita Frute Lemonade pre-mixed alcohol. If you haven't heard of Vita Frute cocktails, basically they're just ready-to-serve cocktails that come in 4 flavors (margarita, lemonade, cosmopolitan, and coconut colada). You just chill and serve! They're 100% organic and they're only 125 calories per serving. Sort of perfect for any Summer party you might be having, or to just sip while you lounge around in the sun. Bonus points if you're trying to watch what you drink/eat, but still want to enjoy yourself a little bit! Here's what I made...

TROPICAL POMEGRANATE LEMONADE

1 oz Vita Frute Lemonade
0.5 oz Vita Frute Coconut Colada
1 oz Light Rum
Splash lime juice
Fill POM juice
Garnish with berries

Vita Frute Cocktail - The Clueless Girl's Guide
VEEV's newest flavor in the Vita Frute line is the Coconut Colada! You can whip up all sorts of delicious coconut-inspired cocktails now. It's made with coconut water and contains loads of electrolytes to help you stay hydrated in the sun. It's also fat and cholesterol free. I used a little bit of the Coconut Colada with some light rum since I didn't have any Malibu on hand. Worked like a charm!

Now for something super fun! VEEV is giving away the Summer party of a lifetime to one lucky winner... One winner will receive an epic Labor Day shindig thrown by VEEV and Evite for you and your thirty closest friends! Yes, thirty. (Invite me, please! haha!) All you have to do to enter is pin your favorite Summer party tip and share it with VEEV here! Ten runners-up will receive the Ultimate Hostess Cocktail Kit from VEEV to help make your entertaining a breeze.

If you want to stay up to date on all things VEEV and Vita Frute, you can follow them on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest! They're always sharing great new recipes, contests, and inspiration.

// Neutrogena Hair Repair Giveaway

Normally Summer is a time where I'm all care free with my hair, letting it do it's thing, and not fussing with a curling iron too terribly much. To be totally honest, my hair is in a messy top knot 95% of the time... especially during the hotter months. Between beach vacations, swimming pools, and good ol' fashioned sweat, my hair can usually use some TLC. Chlorine damaged hair? I've got it. Sun damaged hair? Yep. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love trying out new hair care products. I'm not a fancy girl by any stretch of the imagination, so dropping crazy cash on salon products isn't normally my thing. Offer me up the chance to try out a new shampoo or conditioner and I'm game though! You should see how many magazine samples I have haha! When I think of Neutrogena I don't exactly go straight to "hair care"... Instead I think about 8th grade me with an acne-ridden face. So color me intrigued when they launched their new Triple Repair hair line.
Instead of waxing poetic about all three items in the Triple Repair series, I'm just going to jump straight to the "piece de la resistance"... the leave-in treatment. I love me some deep conditioning treatments but I avoid leave-in stuff like the plague. Why? Because that's a sure fire way for me to end up wearing a greasy mop on top of my noggin. But after nearly 2 weeks at the beach, my hair needed something. ANYTHING! It was in rough shape... I used the shampoo and conditioner a few times before trying in the leave-in treatment and I totally think you benefit more when you use all 3 products at once. I put a nice little dollop of the leave-in cream in my palms and then worked it into my damp hair after towel drying it ever so slightly. Then I went about my business and let it air-dry the rest of the way. (I hate blow drying my hair because I feel like that just adds to my hair breakage. Ugh!) My hair was dry by the time I went to bed, but I don't remember paying it much mind. When I woke up though... snap! My hair was shiny and so so soft. Remember how I said my hair is normally in a top knot? Well my hair was actually so soft and smooth that I couldn't make it hold it's top knot shape without a hair tie (Yep, my hair is often so dry that it can just be tied up on it's own haha Embarrassing.)

Anyway, Neutrogena claims that their Triple Repair series makes hair three times stronger after just one use, and I can at least attest to the fact I had less breakage happening. I didn't scientifically measure it or anything, but I'm pretty stoked on the outcome. It mends split ends, strengthens brittle hair, and protects from future breakage... all things that I know entirely too much about. If you fancy yourself a hot hair tools user, it can help protect hair against heat styling over 400 degrees F, too.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Now it's giveaway time! If you want to take the Triple Repair system for a spin, just follow the instructions below! There's only one way to enter so it's quick and simple, just how I like it!

// Summer is a Breeze - Win a 4Moms Breeze Playard!

When you have a rambunctious five year old, you're outside a lot. Especially when it's summertime. Toby is always getting into something, and as much as I'd love to chase him around the yard, sometimes I just have to lay low and supervise (but still cash in on that gorgeous sunshine!) Mike and I have worked tirelessly on our back deck over the past year, trying to turn it into a nice, tranquil place to entertain and relax. We still have a lot of work to do, but overall we love the feeling that the space provides. I can lounge on the hammock while Toby plays in the yard, or I can tend to our tiny container garden while we snack on lunch at the picnic table. And entertaining at night is a dream thanks to all of the twinklelights we've suspended from the big oak tree that towers over the area. Since Baby Flynn is set to make his arrival smack dab in the middle of Summer, I know I'll need a way to juggle both baby duty and outdoor activities. Enter our 4moms Breeze playard...

To be totally honest, I'm not very well versed in the world of playards... Toby had one when he'd visit us as a baby, but I never really fiddled with it. Instead I let Mike have the annoying task of setting it up and taking it down. I remember him voicing his frustrations on many occasions though. He wasn't looking forward to going through all of that again, so when we our Breeze was delivered he was skeptical. I pestered him to set it up so we could see what it was all about, and the look on his face when he pushed the little center button down was priceless! Y'all, that thing just slid right open... right then and there, with one push of a button. If you can imagine someone doing the "AWHHHHH!" sound, praising the heavens, that's what he looked like. All he said was "That was awesome." After he popped that baby out, we tossed in the mattress and tried on the bassinet attachment (I love that is spans the full width of the playard instead of being just a tiny little thing!) He was in love. I mean, I loved the way it set up and looked, but Mike was basically flabbergasted that it was so simple. Packing it up was jsut as easy... just a simple tug of a tab and boom! Done! He then went on to tell me how Toby's old playard set up and that's when I knew he was a Breeze believer haha! I'm not sure I've ever seen him get so excited over a piece of baby gear before!

The 4 photo series up top shows how simple it is to set up. It just pops out like a little spider (Toby calls it the "Spider Yard") and voila! Easy peasy. I can't vouch for how amazing it is for a little one quite yet, but based on this baby's actions the past few days, it's looking like it won't be much longer now! Since it's so hot and humid in Tennessee, I don't want to bother fiddling with things that take forever to set up and move. I think the Breeze will be a perfect addition to our outdoor entertaining this season.

Toby is over the moon about his baby brother coming soon. Every single time I have a doctor's appointment he asks "Is __(baby's name)__ coming out of you today?" haha! In these particular photos he was sitting on the deck telling us about how he planned on teaching his little brother what tools were what and how they were used. Things like that absolutely make my heart swell and I can't wait to be the mom of two boys... and yes, those are totally words I never thought I'd say! ha!

And what makes me even more excited to be partnering up with 4moms is the fact that I now get to give one of you your very own Breeze playard! This giveaway is open to both US and Canadian residents, and one very lucky winner will be chosen at random later this week! Now get to entering because if this thing is half as amazing as it seems, you're going to want one of your own! Good luck, friends! xo (You can also follow along with the rest of the 4moms Breeze Blog Tour and enter to win a Breeze every. single. day!)

// Swapdom - Swap For New-To-You Home Goods!

The last time I was singing the praises of Swapdom was back in February when they debuted their Kids section on the website. Before that I was introducing you to the brand back in October as the perfect place to swap for new-to-you clothing. Now, only 2 months after their Kids expansion, they're moving into the Home sector! Starting today you can browse the listings for home decor, craft goodies, garden supplies, and even pet accessories, all directly from the Swapdom website! I've said it once before but I'll say it again: I love that it's like shopping, but without spending your hard earned money. Plus swapping items helps alleviate my closet and home of clutter. I'm a lot more likely to let go of something if I know I get to replace it with something new to me, ya know? I think the "one in, one out" rule is totally effective here! (Though let's be real - Right now I'm trying the whole "one in, three out" bit! Gotta make room for this baby and all of the stuff that goes with him!)

Since I've been trying to lessen the clutter around our house, I've been cataloging certain things that I don't mind getting rid of. Some are easier to part with than others, but I know it'll be beneficial in the end. I mean, my lips phone is easily one of my favorite little novelty pieces in the house, but I have absolutely nowhere to put it (sadface!)... Though I did entertain the thought of spray painting the phone metallic gold... but it's probably better this way ha! I can get a little bit crazy when I'm wielding a can of spray paint!

I don't really know what to expect from the items available on the Home section since everyone's tastes will differ. I'm kind of excited to see what everyone ends up listing! I mean, I'd be totally stoked to find some pink kitchen gear, terrariums, macrame plant hangers, and gold office supplies! You know... in case any of you have those lying around and want to go list 'em... Eh? Eh? We'll swap!

I'm definitely going to be on the hunt for purposeful office stuff. Everything from organizational bits and bobs to cute trinkets to scatter on my workspace. That probably sounds like the last thing someone like me needs, but I'm really trying to finish up my tiny little workspace in the kitchen so I feel motivated and inspired this Summer! But I know I'll get sidetracked by cute coffee mugs and salt and pepper shaker sets... I just can't help it.

I've been trying to be so mindful of the things I bring into the house lately since we're short on space. I want each new piece to really have a function (Okay, looking pretty is *totally* a function!)... I could use some organizational assistance over this way though haha! Any takers?

Anyway, peep the new Home section and consider tossing up a few listings! I'd love to see what you have to offer. I'm already going gaga over some of the baby boy listings in the Kids section, so I need something to distract myself from swapping for ALL THE BABY CLOTHES! Happy swapping! xo

P.S; Someone totally listed some Star Trek salt and pepper shakers... you know, if that's your kind of thing! haha!

P.P.S; One of my favorite things about Swapdom is the ability to earn rewards based on how many items you list, swap, refer, etc! You can easily win free shipping (so your swap is 100% FREE!) and perks like movie tickets or Amazon gift cards. You seriously get rewarded for decluttering. WIN/WIN!

This post was in partnership with Swapdom! As always, opinions are 100% my own! Thanks for letting me share select, sponsored content with you on TCGG!

// Dressing Little Boys (+Toby's Outfit of the Day!)

I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a storage box full of dainty little vintage dresses for a future daughter. Ever since I was younger I envisioned what it would be like to have a little girl of my own. I think it has a lot to do with idealizing my relationship with my mom since it was just me and her growing up. She instilled a lot of really important things in me over the years and I've always hoped to pass that on to a daughter at some point. Plus shopping with your daughter just sounds fun, right? I would "ooh" and "ahh" over dresses and tutus when I went shopping, but never really paid much mind to what was available for little boys. I'm 110% stoked to be the mom of two little dudes (!!!), don't get me wrong. But before Toby came along, I was oblivious to the style choices out there for fellas. Most little boys sections in the store are covered in Superman and Cars tees, and while there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, it just never made me excited about dressing a kid.

When we first got custody of Toby, we seriously had to start from the ground up. He came with the (inappropriately sized, very worn) shirt on his back and that was about it. Since we had all of about 2 days notice that we'd be bringing him home, we were not even remotely prepared. We knew we wanted to give him a wardrobe that could function both as play and dress clothes, but we weren't in any position to shell out mad cash for it. We started small and over the past 2.5 years we've built a nice little collection of items that he's excited to wear. (Of course in the past month he has had a growth spurt and totally outgrown almost everything, but I guess that's to be expected! haha We had to cut several pairs of his skinny jeans into cuffed shorts just this week!)
I think it must be because of how Mike has dressed the past few years, but Toby doesn't blink twice at most graphic tees or character clothes. When he sees something in the store that he wants it's almost always an oxford button-up or a polo of some kind. He really tries to emulate Mike's style and it's one of the most precious things in the world. (See this photo for a recent example!) Because of his affinity for Dad's aesthetic, I've found myself falling in love with little boys' clothing. The boat shoes! The cuffed jeans! The bow ties! (Seriously, the bow ties! Toby begs to wear one to school every day and his teachers just die over them haha)

As shallow and materialistic as it sounds, I love shopping for Toby because I love that he loves clothes. It's something that we get to do and enjoy together. He dresses himself each morning and my heart melts into a puddle when he asks for help buttoning the top collar for his bow ties. Being able to watch his style progress through the years has totally done away with my "outfit envy" in the department stores. While I would love to have a daughter one day down the road, I love that I get to wake up each morning and witness such a stylish young man pick out his daily outfit. Toby loves clothes as much as any girl ever would so I'm not missing out on anything at all. When we go to photograph my outfits for the blog, he always politely asks if we'll snap some photos of his outfit, too. (I should really share more of those sometime... He's a total ham for the camera!) The part that really gets me? When he says that he's going to teach his baby brother how to wear bow ties! (Y'all! Come on! Just thinking about that makes me tear up.)
Of course as much as I love the oxfords and boat shoes and whatever else, we have to be very mindful of how much we spend on these items. Have you ever been around a 5 year old?! Most of his tees don't last a week and his shoes are black and scuffed after the first jaunt on the playground (Don't even ask how much playground mulch we've accumulated in our house thanks to what he brings home in his shoes...) Such is the destruction of a little boy! Haha 90% of Toby's wardrobe has come from Old Navy over the past 2 years because it's practical, functional, and affordable (The Back to School sales are unreal!) When he comes home from school with a pesky dirt or juice stain that won't budge, the shirt gets washed and tossed into a "play clothes" drawer and then that's what he wears to roll around in the grass outside. It's a constant and steady rotation of "school-to-play" in our house.

I'm excited to see how Toby's style progresses over the years. Part of me wonders if he'll always be the button-up wearin' kind of boy, or if he'll fall more in line with what the rest of his friends normally wear. I think a lot of people are sometimes surprised to hear that Toby dresses himself in bow ties and boat shoes rather than us forcing them on him, but we said from the very beginning that it was important to us to let him determine his own style and identity. Of course I'm totally stoked that he likes what he likes (for now at least), but I'm also excited that I'll get to pick Baby Flynn's clothes at least for a few years haha!

And just a heads up for those of you mamas and papas out there, Old Navy is kicking off a Kids & Baby Sale this weekend, May 10th, at their flagship store in NYC. There will be a boatload of goodies for $10 and under, and the theme is a Kids Carnival! Obviously Nashville is a bit far for us to be in attendance, but hopefully some of y'all can swing by and take part in the festivities. There will be face-painting, carnival games, etc. A fun time for everyone! If you're like me and can't make it for the carnival party, you can still take advantage of some major steals online this weekend. Seeing as Toby's clothes are all about 2 inches too short, I'll be stalking the site for sure.

Toby's outfit: Old Navy oxford, skinny jeans and sneakers. Handmade (by Mike!) bowtie

This post was in partnership with Old Navy. All opinions and words are my own. All the items in the above collage can be purchased at OldNavy.com! (Many of them are currently on sale, too!) Thanks for allowing me to share select sponsored content on TCGG.

// Baby Aspen "Under The Sea" Giveaway

This might be one of the cutest giveaways I've ever done on this little blog. When Mike and I found out we were expecting a baby back in December, I started lurking flash sale sites like mad! That's where I first found out about Baby Aspen. I ended up ordering loads of super cute goodies for our little one, and even a few bits and bobs for friends' babies. I was tickled pink when they came in the mail because they're so stinking adorable. Now I feel like Baby Flynn owns most of the Baby Aspen line and he's not even here yet. It was totally meant to be when they approached me about running a little contest here on the blog so y'all could get your hands on some goodies, too!

Their "Under The Sea" collection is hands down my absolute favorite on the site, and Baby Flynn already has the Chomp n Stomp shark set (!!!) and a shark hooded robe. And thanks to my friend Nicole over at BA, he'll also be sporting the Lobster hooded towel and bibs up above! While I can't really "review" the items we have in terms of ease of use on the baby, I can tell you how adorable they are and how good the quality is. Just to give you an idea of what I've ordered off of Baby Aspen myself, we currently have: Chomp n Stomp shark set, Lobster hooded towel*, Beach Buddies bib set*, Hippo hooded robe, Shark hooded robe*, Chomp n Stomp monster set, Baby MD outfit, Baby Pilot outfit, and probably a few more I'm forgetting. Not to mention the pieces I ordered for friends! - Here's Essley sporting a pair of the bloomers I sent her! - (The items marked with an asterisk were courtesy of, just to be upfront about what I bought and what I was given!) When I say I love their stuff, I promise I mean it! Just look at their Big Dreamzzz collection! And if you have a little lady, you'll die at all of the cuteness available. (And a little birdie tells me they'll be expanding their boy stuff this Summer!)

Now Baby Aspen wants to give one of you lucky guys or gals a Lobster hooded robe and Beach Buddies bib set! Whether you have a kiddo yourself or know someone who does (or is expecting!), you'll have the perfect haul to give!

To be entered to win the Lobster hooded towel and the Beach Buddies bib set, just "Like" Baby Aspen on Facebook! Then leave a comment below letting me know what name you liked them under and voila!

For additional entries, feel free to do any or all of the following (and leave a separate comment for each below!): Follow Baby Aspen on Instagram, Follow Baby Aspen on Twitter, Follow Baby Aspen on Pinterest.

A winner will be chosen at random next week and contacted shortly thereafter. This giveaway is open to US residents only! Thanks so much for dropping in and checking out the rad partners who make TCGG possible. I can't wait to see who wins! xo

Congratulations Jamie Nicole!

// Swapdom - Baby + Kids!

Swapdom - Now for Kids and Babies!

Remember back a few months ago when I introduced y'all to Swapdom?! Well it was awesome enough when it was just for women's clothing, but now they've gone and upped the ante and you can also swap babies and kids' gear! Clothing, accessories, toys, maternity clothes, whatever! I'm all for swapping my own clothes, but considering my body is going through something pretty new (and totally weird!), I've been in mommy-mode 24/7. I think about the kids full time and I haven't thought too terribly much about growing my own wardrobe. How will we dress the baby? What kind of toys will we buy him? What stroller makes the most sense? What size will Toby be wearing this Summer? Toby is outgrowing things at rapid speeds. I mean, the kid is 5 and can still wear 3T clothing... but all of his pants become highwaters in no time because he's just so darn tall. Tall and lanky. This means we're always rotating clothes in and out of his closet. There are a few pieces I plan on holding onto for the baby, but it'll be quite some time before he can fit in his big brother's clothes. Swapping for what we need in the time being is perfect!

And while no one asked me what I thought about the price of most kids clothing these days, I'm going to share anyway: HOLY MOLY! I'm astounded by the prices of some basic clothing pieces. I want Toby and the baby to be dressed cute (who doesn't?) but I don't plan on breaking the bank to achieve that. Toby grows so fast and I'm sure the baby will be just the same, I feel a lot better about spending some money here and there when I know I have a place I can easily swap it out once we're done with it. Plus Swapdom is like shopping... but free! You only pay for shipping! Win/win!
Swapdom - Now for Kids and Babies!

I went ahead and sorted through Toby's closet the other day when we had a huge cleaning day. His shoes never make it very long, but I was happy to find loads of clothing pieces I would be happy to trade out. I uploaded 3 pieces to my Swapdom profile so if you've got a kiddo of your own that wears a 3T, you might find something you love! I think I need to give his toy drawer a good once-over soon, too. I'm going to scour the site for more of my favorites and then see what I can pull from his clothes that we've stored for the season! (There are loads of little girl clothes already uploaded to Swapdom, so if you have a little lady, get to hunting! If you have a little dude, come upload some stuff so I can swap with you!)

A few favorite items currently available for swap: this three month bundle set (little boy), vintage moccasin boots, this embroidered dress from Mexico, and this stroller!

I think my favorite part about Swapdom is that the swaps you make don't have to be "this for this"... Instead you say you're interested in a swap and then Swapdom does all the work. They arrange multi-person swaps so everyone gets a fair deal (and what they wanted!) Their largest swap so far included NINE people!

If you're signing up to swap, consider getting a little personal kitchen/postal scale so you can get a quick (and accurate!) read on the item's weight! It might also be beneficial to have a few small boxes or mailers on hand so you can get your swap out to it's new owner.

And if all of that wasn't awesome enough, Swapdom is doing a super rad giveaway for a luxury Phil&Teds stroller! You can bet I've already entered! If you're interested in submitting your own entry, click HERE! Good luck!

This post was in partnership with Swapdom,
but all words and opinions (and excitement!) are my own!

PS; Happy freakin' Valentine's Day!
