I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss my "bump." While I never really strayed too terribly far from my usual, non-pregnant style, I loved picking out dresses and outfits that showcased one of the most amazing times in my life. For once it was exciting and desirable to draw attention to my bulging midsection haha! I normally played it pretty safe with the brands I bought and the stores I shopped at when it came to maternity clothes. // Neutrogena Hair Repair Giveaway

Normally Summer is a time where I'm all care free with my hair, letting it do it's thing, and not fussing with a curling iron too terribly much. To be totally honest, my hair is in a messy top knot 95% of the time... especially during the hotter months. Between beach vacations, swimming pools, and good ol' fashioned sweat, my hair can usually use some TLC. Chlorine damaged hair? I've got it. Sun damaged hair? Yep. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love trying out new hair care products. I'm not a fancy girl by any stretch of the imagination, so dropping crazy cash on salon products isn't normally my thing. Offer me up the chance to try out a new shampoo or conditioner and I'm game though! You should see how many magazine samples I have haha! When I think of Neutrogena I don't exactly go straight to "hair care"... Instead I think about 8th grade me with an acne-ridden face. So color me intrigued when they launched their new Triple Repair hair line.

Instead of waxing poetic about all three items in the Triple Repair series, I'm just going to jump straight to the "piece de la resistance"... the leave-in treatment. I love me some deep conditioning treatments but I avoid leave-in stuff like the plague. Why? Because that's a sure fire way for me to end up wearing a greasy mop on top of my noggin. But after nearly 2 weeks at the beach, my hair needed something. ANYTHING! It was in rough shape... I used the shampoo and conditioner a few times before trying in the leave-in treatment and I totally think you benefit more when you use all 3 products at once. I put a nice little dollop of the leave-in cream in my palms and then worked it into my damp hair after towel drying it ever so slightly. Then I went about my business and let it air-dry the rest of the way. (I hate blow drying my hair because I feel like that just adds to my hair breakage. Ugh!) My hair was dry by the time I went to bed, but I don't remember paying it much mind. When I woke up though... snap! My hair was shiny and so so soft. Remember how I said my hair is normally in a top knot? Well my hair was actually so soft and smooth that I couldn't make it hold it's top knot shape without a hair tie (Yep, my hair is often so dry that it can just be tied up on it's own haha Embarrassing.)

Anyway, Neutrogena claims that their Triple Repair series makes hair three times stronger after just one use, and I can at least attest to the fact I had less breakage happening. I didn't scientifically measure it or anything, but I'm pretty stoked on the outcome. It mends split ends, strengthens brittle hair, and protects from future breakage... all things that I know entirely too much about. If you fancy yourself a hot hair tools user, it can help protect hair against heat styling over 400 degrees F, too.

// Summer is a Breeze - Win a 4Moms Breeze Playard!

When you have a rambunctious five year old, you're outside a lot. Especially when it's summertime. Toby is always getting into something, and as much as I'd love to chase him around the yard, sometimes I just have to lay low and supervise (but still cash in on that gorgeous sunshine!) Mike and I have worked tirelessly on our back deck over the past year, trying to turn it into a nice, tranquil place to entertain and relax. We still have a lot of work to do, but overall we love the feeling that the space provides. I can lounge on the hammock while Toby plays in the yard, or I can tend to our tiny container garden while we snack on lunch at the picnic table. And entertaining at night is a dream thanks to all of the twinklelights we've suspended from the big oak tree that towers over the area. Since Baby Flynn is set to make his arrival smack dab in the middle of Summer, I know I'll need a way to juggle both baby duty and outdoor activities. Enter our 4moms Breeze playard...

To be totally honest, I'm not very well versed in the world of playards... Toby had one when he'd visit us as a baby, but I never really fiddled with it. Instead I let Mike have the annoying task of setting it up and taking it down. I remember him voicing his frustrations on many occasions though. He wasn't looking forward to going through all of that again, so when we our Breeze was delivered he was skeptical. I pestered him to set it up so we could see what it was all about, and the look on his face when he pushed the little center button down was priceless! Y'all, that thing just slid right open... right then and there, with one push of a button. If you can imagine someone doing the "AWHHHHH!" sound, praising the heavens, that's what he looked like. All he said was "That was awesome." After he popped that baby out, we tossed in the mattress and tried on the bassinet attachment (I love that is spans the full width of the playard instead of being just a tiny little thing!) He was in love. I mean, I loved the way it set up and looked, but Mike was basically flabbergasted that it was so simple. Packing it up was jsut as easy... just a simple tug of a tab and boom! Done! He then went on to tell me how Toby's old playard set up and that's when I knew he was a Breeze believer haha! I'm not sure I've ever seen him get so excited over a piece of baby gear before!

The 4 photo series up top shows how simple it is to set up. It just pops out like a little spider (Toby calls it the "Spider Yard") and voila! Easy peasy. I can't vouch for how amazing it is for a little one quite yet, but based on this baby's actions the past few days, it's looking like it won't be much longer now! Since it's so hot and humid in Tennessee, I don't want to bother fiddling with things that take forever to set up and move. I think the Breeze will be a perfect addition to our outdoor entertaining this season.

Toby is over the moon about his baby brother coming soon. Every single time I have a doctor's appointment he asks "Is __(baby's name)__ coming out of you today?" haha! In these particular photos he was sitting on the deck telling us about how he planned on teaching his little brother what tools were what and how they were used. Things like that absolutely make my heart swell and I can't wait to be the mom of two boys... and yes, those are totally words I never thought I'd say! ha!

This might be one of the cutest giveaways I've ever done on this little blog. When Mike and I found out we were expecting a baby back in December, I started lurking flash sale sites like mad! That's where I first found out about Baby Aspen. I ended up ordering loads of super cute goodies for our little one, and even a few bits and bobs for friends' babies. Happy Sunday, y'all! Today I'm sharing a (ridiculous and possibly awkward) video of me talking about the new Temptu AirBrush Makeup Kit and showing you how to use it yourself! Then you'll have the opportunity to win your very own Temptu system! Holla!

So let's talk about the kit... When I was invited to participate in this campaign, I had to think about it for a bit. I've wanted an airbrush makeup kit forever, but I was so incredibly intimidated at the thought of sharing a video of me using it, ya know? Still, I couldn't pass up this awesome opportunity so I jumped on board. I'm really glad I did because I ended up loving the system way more than I anticipated. 

First off, this thing is so easy to use. I'm the type of girl who can't even grasp the most simplistic makeup tutorials via YouTube, but after watching the Temptu video I totally had it down. Temptu was created by some of the top professional makeup artists, and is regularly used by folks like Madonna, Beyonce (!!!), Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. It's the first of it's kind to be produced into an at-home airbrush makeup system for regular gals like you and me. You'll have to forgive me and my video in case it's awkward haha! This was the first time I've ever sat down with the intention of making a tutorial-esque video of semi-decent quality! In case you're at work (you cheeky thing!) or somewhere you can't watch the video, here are some general points I made:

• Like I said above, the Temptu system is so easy to use. It takes not time at all to get the hang of it. It's perfect for all ranges of skill level. From a gal like me who can't manage winged eyeliner if my life depended on it, to a formally trained makeup professional.
• The system uses the patented AIRpod makeup to allow you to easily swap out shades and types of Temptu makeup. You can go from foundation to blush in 3 seconds flat.
• You can buy a variety of different foundation shades, as well as blush, bronzer and highlighter via the Temptu website. (This is a perfect system to have if you're looking to get into makeup artistry! You can have all of the shades right at your fingertips!)
• The colors I used were:  Temptu Foundation - 04 Sand (though I should have gone with 05... luckily since it goes on so sheer you can't tell too much!) Blush - Washed Rose (a beautiful dark dusty pink) and Highlighter - Champagne (so pearlescent!) 
• You apply the makeup in small, circular motions and in light, sheer layers. Build up coverage as you go. You can go from a light "natural" look to a full face of makeup with ease. It's kind of funny to think that you spray on makeup, and I may have compared it to spray paint in the video... ha!
